Community Swimming Pool

Postby BadDog on Thu Feb 07, 2008 8:08 am

I'm sure you all saw the flyers come out from SEDA-COG regarding the community pool. What are your thoughts? Does the community need this resource? If not, what other resources do the kids of the community have to occupy themselves? There is not much else in the town. What othre options do we as a community have to help raise the money aside from raising taxes? How did it get to this point of disrepair? Where HAS our money been going?

What a pity. A whole summer gone by and the borough hasn't brought forth any suggestions on things for our kids in the community. Not only is it a loss for our children but also a loss of income for our community. How many families had to go to other surrounding communities to use their facilities, spent their money in other communities?

It's simply amazing to see the projects that the borough and the infrastructure of the business community are willing to divert and raise money for and still no mention of our youth.

To quote a phrase from the history of Watsontown:
Surely those of us who have added our mite to the building of this ideal community can, with pardonable pride, say: "If you would see our monument, look about you".

I'm not sure the town we are today is the town they envisioned
